This year, students decided on a Folklore theme, focusing on WV Cryptids. All the content was designed around this theme, including the CTE-themed crossword puzzles, word finds, and mad-libs in addition to the yearbook-style CTE completers section.

2024 Graphic Design program completers Kate Kuthy and Austin Shaw collaborated on the Cryptid Careers part of this issue. Kate created the illustrations, and Austin wrote the blurbs for each career match.

More About Cluster Magazine

In 2023 when we created Cluster Magazine, we landed on the word cluster for the name. This word is a natural part of our CTE vernacular as each of our individual programs falls into the “career cluster” categories, Studio 235’s being Arts,  AV Technology & Communications. We also liked that the letters “C” “T” and “E” were already built into the word “cluster.”

The National Career Clusters® Framework serves as an organizing tool for Career Technical Education (CTE) programs, curriculum design and instruction. There are 16 Career Clusters in the National Career Clusters Framework, representing 79 Career Pathways to help learners navigate their way to greater success in college and career. The framework also functions as a useful guide in developing programs of study bridging secondary and postsecondary systems and for creating individual student plans of study for a complete range of career options. As such, it helps learners discover their interests and their passions, and empowers them to choose the educational pathway that can lead to success in high school, college and career.

The 16 Career Clusters are listed below. Click on each one to learn more:
